Visual technical inspection
Besides determining the appraisal values of the object, we can also assess the technical condition of a houseboat, dutch barge or water villa. This includes the condition of the object itself and all technology on board (similar to an architectural inspection of a house).
A visual technical inspection of a houseboat, dutch barge or water villa will include:
- overall condition;
- condition of the structure/decks;
- condition of concrete hull (for steel hull, an overall inspection of the hull);
- insulation;
- electrical installation;
- gas system;
- heating system;
- plumbing system (including: sewage pump, showers, toilets);
- mooring system;
- etc.
During a visual technical inspection of the houseboat, where the object is in the water, the steel hull can only be assessed globally. If you want a good picture of the steel hull, we, as completely independent experts, can carry out a hull survey (ultrasonic hull survey) for you. For this, the houseboat must be taken out of the water/to a shipyard.
Our survey report is accepted by all insurers.
Optionally, we can also inspect the following items for sailing houseboats:
- Main engine (propulsion system);
- Bow thruster;
- Steering;
- Generator(s);
- Auxiliary motor(s);
At the end of the inspection, all findings will be discussed with you. These are also incorporated into the inspection report and supplemented with advice, which you will receive from us by e-mail.
Insurance appraisal
The visual technical
inspection can also be supplemented by an appraisal for insurance purposes. There will be a replacement and/or reconstruction value of the houseboat, (sailing) houseboat or water villa determined.
There will also be examined
whether the object meets the insurance and general safety requirements.
Because of this the
report can also be used for insurance at a houseboat insurer.
