Who are we?

Rutger Versluijs

Rutger grew up at a yacht yard on the Kaag. This yard had been set up by his grandfather and taken over by his father who taught him the tricks of the trade. With these generations of yacht building in his blood, it was only natural that he would become a marine engineer.

Even while studying at HTS Naval Architecture, Rutger came into contact with Gerard Duursma.

In addition to the experience gained at the yacht yard, Rutger has also gained experience in various positions in the yacht building industry, including a yacht builder of luxury yachts and an engineering design firm.

In 2001 Rutger joined Duursma Scheepssurveys and together Gerard and Rutger founded the VOF "Duursma & Versluijs".
In 2015, Rutger took over the company.

Rutger is qualified as:

  • HISWA Qualified Yacht Surveyor®.
  • NVEP Qualified Yacht Surveyor® (Dutch Association of Experts Pleasure Craft).
  • EMCI Registered Yacht Surveyor® (European Maritime Certification Institute).
  • EMCI Registered Houseboat Appraiser® (European Maritime Certification Institute, certified houseboat appraiser)
  • Registered Appraiser VRT® (Association of Registered Appraisers, houseboats/pleasure craft).

Gerard Duursma
